This morning several shops in Huntingdon have been flooded after last nights rain. It is because of examples like this that we are pushing Huntingdon District Council to declare a 🚨CLIMATE EMERGENCY🚨
We have heard it said that simple measures like having trees or exposed ground in the town centre (such as flower beds) are currently prohibited. Instead we have acres of paving and tarmac meaning that all rain water has to go down drains that are clearly either too small or blocked.
We can’t go on like this.
We’re sure that The Commemoration Hall would appreciate some help to clear up- please contact them directly.
